SERVICES OFFERD AT EMFERD

ERICK MEMORIAL FOUNDATION EDUCATION & REHABILITATION FOR THE DISABLED(EMFERD) is a non-government organization making a difference in the lives of children with special needs in Tanzania. We stand out to break the silence of disability in communities through increasing access to education, community rehabilitation, health and restoring broken families. Our main theme will always be “GIVING DISABILITY A HUMAN FACE IN TANZANIA” EMFERD provide therapy and counselling to parents and family members who are raising persons with special needs(disabled), We use the CBR strategy to equip caregivers and family members with knowledge and skills to administer to their children who are disabled. EMFERD gets to the interior villages and create awareness on disability, most people believe that disability is a bad omen, so once they realize their child is disabled, they hide him/her. EMFERD goes out there and rescue such. We reach out to help the parents have the right mentality towards their disabled children as well as making sure people with disabilities are treated like any other human being because EVERY HUMAN MATTERS!
